本科目は1,2年の高校英語を基礎にしたものであり、4年生の英語Wおよび5年生の英語Xの学習の土台となるものである。英検,TOEIC等の英語試験との関連が強い.
科目の概要Goal; The goal of the class is to make students more aware of how our lifestyles affect the environment and how to make more informed choices. News from abroad will help to create a better understanding of other people and that they are affected by the way we live here. By also looking at what ordinary people and scientists do, the students will hopefully, outside the classroom as well, feel empowered in finding out how they can contribute to our society.
授業方針Teaching method; Chapters in three student textbooks will be used. We will watch two films: In Transition 1.0 and the documentary Chernobyl Heart together with news clips. Films and news will be material used in class that is not prepared exclusively for Japanese students. Short presentations will be given in groups toward the end of the year; free choice of subject but picked from among topics studied. No midterm exams.
